Mukhriz Not Keen On Holding Government Post

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- Umno Youth chief candidate Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir is firm in his stand not to hold any post in the government if elected the movement's head in the party elections in March.
He said the reason being was that he wanted to focus on restoring the people's confidence in Umno and the Barisan Nasional (BN).
"I have announced before that if given the mandate to be the Umno Youth chief, I'm not keen on holding any government post because the political work to be done within four years of the 13th general election is crucial and I don't want my focus on party work, which I think is more important, to be diverted by official government duties," he told a press conference after a briefing on the Malaysian Franchise Award 2008 here Thursday.
He is chairman of the Malaysian Franchise Association.
On money politics, Mukhriz said the election process in Umno should strengthen the party.

tunku : if everyone thinks that way then umno would be very lucky.i guess at this point of time umno needs leaders who will sacrifice their total commitments to the party as it is in bad shape at the moment especially for ketua pemuda, he will definitely need to give his full commitments to the youth wing, to get the youth support for the party, to transform the party from the ground.
