Evaluate Wisely Between Transformation And Reformation - Najib

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today advised the people to make a wise evaluation between the transformation brought about by the government and the reformation propagated by the Opposition.

Over the past four years, the Barisan Nasional (BN) government had persistently brought about a comprehensive transformation in the government, economic, political and social spheres, he said when addressing about 6,000 people at the Kampung Semeba community hall in Jalan Stephen Yong, here.

Najib said transformation was better than reformation because the former would make Malaysia a developed nation by 2020 while the latter did not have a clear objective and was confined to making one individual the prime minister, even if the people had to be dragged into street demonstrations.

"Transformation does not stand for huge numbers alone. I do not want anyone to say that he or she did not benefit from the government transformation. It is for this reason that from the outset, it had been determined that transformation must have an impact on and benefit the ordinary people.

"When we talk of transformation, it is the generation of national wealth for the people's benefit," he said.

Also present at the event were Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu; Sarawak Housing Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg; Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui and Federal Deputy Works Minister and the BN candidate for the Stampin parliamentary seat Datuk Yong Khoon Seng.

Najib and the other leaders arrived in a drizzle and were welcomed by the beating of Chinese drums. The prime minister also adorned the traditional Bidayuh attire.

Elaborating on the transformation initiatives, Najib said much success had been achieved, among which was the creation of employment opportunities.

"We have made available hundreds of thousands of jobs; it can be said that we are near full employment. We have succeeded; this is transformation. When you have succeeded, what is there to change anymore?

"Our economy is good; we have expanded the market share; we have given many benefits to the people, among them the BR1M (1Malaysia People's Aid). What is there to change anymore?
