KJ & Azmin : Pot Calling The Kettle Black

Khairy Wants Explanation From Azmin Over RM8 Million Shares Purchase

SEREMBAN, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said on Saturday Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Azmin Ali should explain an allegation over the purchase of RM8-million worth of shares raised by Malaysian Indian Youth Development Foundation chairman S.A. Vigneswaran.
"It is not wrong to buy shares, but an explanation is necessary as to how the purchase was financed. He must have an answer and an explanation, and we are waiting for the explanation," he said.
Khairy spoke to reporters after he had launched a consumer campaign to cultivate one's own vegetables to save cost, organised by the Federation of Malaysian Consumers Associations (Fomca), at the Taman Tuanku Ja'afar community hall in Sungai Gadut near here.
He was asked to comment on the allegation by Vigneswaran on the purchase of shares worth RM8 million involving three individuals, including Azmin, in the early 1990s as reported in several newspapers on Saturday.
Khairy, who is the Member of Parliament for Rembau, said he hoped that Azmin would not remain silent as the matter was associated with his credibility.
"The Barisan Nasional (BN) government has been accused of many things. As such, it is not wrong if we ask for the same form of accountability to be applied by the opposition leaders," he said.
On Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim appointing PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the economic advisor to the state, Khairy said this showed the inability of the Selangor government to manage its own economy and having to appoint someone from outside.

wrong answer.
the loans were given out by the snr partners of ECM libra. So that answere the 'who part'
Nothing wrong in that - the shares act are pledged in return for the loan.

Point to note - this did not involve the banking system per se. The banking system was not encumbered, ...sigh, come on lah, tomorrow is the famous screening of the History Channel episode. If your still blind to the 'who got BILLIONS to buy shares' and how it endangered our financial system when the 97 crisis struck, then really I cant care less.

Go ahead - pick on KJ for a private loan based on an employee share option scheme. Its reflects your depth of understanding on financial matters. And btw, I actually have some qualifications in finance under my belt. Do you?

FYI - I don't think KJ could afford me even if he wanted to. So that much about your insinuation that I am a paid blogger.

Wenger J Khairy! Tumpang tanya sikit, J tu apa? Jilat ka? Kalu nak jilat pun tak apa! Jgn jilat tempat yg Anwar suka, sudah lah......

well actually you don't know a lot of things. that was precisely my point. anyhow, keep up with the personal insults. Parpukari and yourself would make a very good tag team.

for ORDINARY people, applying for loans is not an easy task

you need to fulfill a long list of criteria to ascertain your worthiness with regards to repayment ability

but if loans are EASILY available, not only that the loan offer came unsolicited

we wonder what are the strings attached??

1. The ECM-Libra issue has been written, discussed, criticised and condemned by people from all walks of life, from the ordinary 'rakyat' to the politicians from both divides, to the corporate players, to the NGOs and the relevant government agencies.

2. If there was condemnation of the above-said issue, then the characters involved would have been none other than the famous or rather the infamous talked-about personalities who most Malaysians know too well to be quite capable of 'fixing' things ! Many still keep their down-loaded articles on this matter in their private files and libraries. So to expect these 'interested' individuals to quickly and easily forget the matter would be an exercise in futility. As the volacano accumulates lava and burning debri for thousands of years, waiting only for the right time to gush out its deadly content, so will be the same with the said group of persons, wanting for the opportune time to bravely come out in the open to 'right' the 'wrongs' !

3. It would be too easy to quote and even reproduce here articles of criticisms and condemnations of the said affair - the characters involved, the deceit played-out ; the absurd excuses and explanations given, much to the disbelief of even the financial gurus - in newspapers and blogoshere.

4. Needless to say, denials and accusation of 'conspiratory-retaliation' seems to be the order of the day then and still is, today ! Throwing suspicion and blame on to the other side has worked many a times to divert attention from one's own guilt or mistake or misdemeanour !

5. Could this also be an attempt to show who is a bigger devil as a strategy to sidetrack or divert public attention from oneself ??? How about condemning both or all ??? Or could it also be another drama conjured up by 'infidels' of the same school of corrupt practices ?

6. It would be wise to come out in the open and "explain in a language" that even the ordinary rakyat would understand. Keeping them in the dark would surely be fodder for those intent on NOT-believing.

Ketua Pemuda yg rasuah, who will ever take him seriously?
Are you kidding me!
He should just keep his mouth shut and wait for his term to be over.
He has done enough damage to UMNO.
He should be grateful that he is not behind bars.

I couldn't agree more with you. You have described a character who should have "been punished" a long time ago. Many a times he got away scot-free just because of his position and perhaps more so because of his ties and 'relationship' with the powers that be OR that HAD been.Otherwise how on earth could he have escaped disciplinary action by a Disciplinary Board of a party that had earlier sentenced someone of a higher stature for an offence very similar his ?

If I were him, I wouldn't be proud to hold that party position nor would I strut along like a peacock in the august house.

Being highly-educated does not absolve someone of his or her misdemeanour !
