Selangor BN reps reject RM200,000 allocation

Selangor’s Barisan Nasional assemblymen have unanimously rejected the RM200,000 allocated to them under Mentri Besar Azmin Ali’s 2015 budget.

Selangor Opposition leader Datuk Shamsudin Lias said the 12 Barisan assemblymen had declined the allocation because the quantum did not reflect fair play.

According to him a bigger allocation had been given to constituency coordinators from Pakatan Rakyat.

Pakatan coordinators appointed to oversee constituencies helmed by the Opposition have been given an allocation of RM700,000.

“We are elected representatives voted in by the people whilst the coordinators are not.
“It is not fair that they get a bigger allocation than us,’’ Shamsudin told a press conference after debating the budget at the Selangor legislative assembly Tuesday.

Shamsudin also urged Azmin to do away with the state economic advisor’s post which is being held by PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Shamsudin said the position was redundant as there wasn’t a need to have an economic advisor in Selangor.
