Rights of other races should not be questioned, Wanita Umno tells party members

Wanita Umno has urged party members not to stoke flames of racial hatred and to respect the rights of other races as enshrined in the Federal Constitution.

Wanita chief Datuk Shahrizat Abdul Jalil further added that rights and citizenship of other races should not be questioned.

“As a Malay and a bumiputra, we have the responsibility to live harmoniously with other races in this country by respecting their rights too.

“Therefore, I am making a plea to you that we shouldn’t question the rights and citizenship of other races such as the Chinese and Indians who were born here.

“If we do not want them to question our rights as bumiputera, we need to respect their rights as citizens of this country too,” said Shahrizat, during the wing’s assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre here, Wednesday.
