PR should walk the talk over free education

THE Pakatan Rakyat Government should walk the talk by providing free education for its state's own Universiti Selangor (Unisel) students.
Recently there were calls by Pakatan Rakyat to abolish PTPTN and to give free education to all. We welcome the call to provide free education for all, and we want the Pakatan Rakyat Government to walk the talk by providing free education at Unisel.
As of June 2012, we have 13,528 students who have enrolled in Unisel, and 2,784 are expected to graduate this year. Recently PTPTN suspended scholarships to Unisel students, and this would severely affect new student enrolments and cause short-term financial burdens for students who had enrolled at this university.
Being a cash-rich state with revenues amounting to billions of ringgit certainly would enable Selangor to fund its own university and provide free education for all. If Pakatan is serious in its call to provide free education for all, then it should initiate the idea by starting it in Unisel.
I am sure the people of Selangor would be happy and grateful if the Selangor government can be a catalyst in this call for free education for all. If Selangor can implement this, then we can think about implementing free education in the whole of Malaysia.
The Federal Government has claimed that this is impossible, being a strategy by Pakatan Rakyat to give empty promises just to capture Putrajaya. Since the last general election, what effort has Pakatan Rakyat taken in the states it governs to provide free education for all?
Even though education is under the Federal Government's jurisdiction, the people of Selangor want to know what efforts are being taken by Pakatan Rakyat in institutions it controls such as the Unisel to provide free education for all? Can they walk the talk?

tunku : pakatan can only talk but can't do anything about what they talk. all their promises are made just to get vote without proper planning to make it happen. pakatan only walk the craps.
