Najib: Opposition leadership is anti-national

KUALA LUMPUR: The leadership of the opposition parties are actually struggling to achieve certain objectives to gain power and are bound to resolving their personal problems to the extent that they are prepared to deceive the people, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said. The Prime Minister said that based on this reality, the people and leaders of Barisan Nasional must be wary because the opposition leaders were prepared to do anything to achieve their objectives including tarnishing Malaysia's image abroad.
"Beware everyone, they are very dangerous. I want to point out here, they are anti-national.
"We must go all out and ensure that this country is not destroyed by their evil activities," he said at the Barisan Nasional Convention.
Najib, who Barisan chairman, said the efforts by the opposition parties to try and emulate the Barisan in terms of cooperation involving all the component parties representing the various races were pointless because they did not have the formula for sincerity, vision and values that were shared together.
"Just look at the PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat), from their line-up of seven top leadership, only one represents the Chinese.
"Meanwhile, the Indians who represent their second largest membership with more than 20% of the total, do not have even one representative at the top party level," he said.
Najib said the opposition parties also tried to emulate Umno by introducing a new type of election for their leadership to the extent that the opposition parties were becoming uncomfortable and chaotic.
"We understand that they are following the English saying 'imitation is the best form of flattery'.
"It is very obvious, whenever we make political changes and reforms which are internal in nature, it scares them to the extent that they become chaotic and want to copy.
"The lesson here is that when other people want to copy, certainly what we are doing is correct," he said.
Najib also touched on the integrity of the opposition parties that was actually being doubted by the party members themselves.

tunku : no doubt the pakatan will destroyed this country by their evil activities.they do not have same objective, they have separate agendas.parties with different agendas will never be able to rule a country with stability both politically and economically.the country will be in chaotic situation.the people should reject them.

Tunku,

We do not have a choice do we. Vote BN more of the same. Vote PR may be we may have a chance. I think that we should have a change. May be our luck will change for the better. And BN itself will gear itself listen to what the people have to say and bring about change to build this nation.

BN has had 50 years in government and we are stuck in a middle-income trap. The plan to make us a High Income Nation does not address the issue of productivity. You will agree with me that high income status can only be achieved through a new and better engine of growth and higher productivity.

Our continued dependence on migrant labour when we have half the population under the age of 35 will create more under-employmnt and will keep wages supressed because migrant labour will accept low wages. And if they do not we can take workers from even more desperate nation.

I wonder if you can recall what happened in the Philippines in the 70s anf 80s. Wages were too low and middle income workers such as teachers, nurses, and clarks took high paying but low level manual jobs in countries such as Hong Kong, Singapore and the oil rich Arab countries. In 5 to 10 years the salary of a maid in these countries will be close to USD 2,000. Can you imagime what will be the impact.

Already in the southern state of Johor middle income workers are opting to work in Singapore because the figure they earn in Malaysian Ringgit is offered to them in Singapore dollars. That means that their income in RM goes up by 2 1/2 times. The difference is just too much for those who are offered these opportunities.

Many little things need to be fixed. We have to find a way to get Malaysians to invest in this country instead of keeping their funds in low interest accounts overseas. Investment incentive should be given to local investors instead of only to foreign investors. We have to at least have a policy that will help us to retain people in this country to run it in the future, Forget about those who have migrated they will never come back. Setting up a High Level Cabinet Committee to get them back is a waste of money.

Our education system is much to be desired. If I am wrong you will not have so many private schools in this country offering primary and secondary education. It is ok to have private Universities but to have so many private primary and secondary schools, even if they are offering the national school type of education, is an indication the many, particularly in the upper echelons of society having little regard for our education system. And if you move in Putrajaya and KL circles you will get the picture. Far too many people are sending their children to private schools where the fees could be RM10,000 a year for primary and RM 12,000-RM 15,000 a year. That is more than the annual salary of 50% lower end of our work force.

I do not have to go into the social ills that we face in this country. We may not like to hear this but it has something to do with the education system.

Of late you must have read in the papers where our minister said that we do not have sufficient training hospital to train our housemen doctors. Because of the perceived or otherwise poor qualifications of our housemen doctors their period of housemenship had to be increased from one year to two years. That decision automatically doubled the pressure on our government trainning hospitals. A system that could only take 3,000 housemen had to take on 6,000 housemen by that decision.

I have alot of respect for you blog because you take up issues that are relavant to the nation. I hope that we as a nation can address these issue in an atmosphere of political stability keeping the interest of the people close to us.Salam satu Malaysia. Thank you.

"Vote PR may be we may have a chance. I think that we should have a change. May be our luck will change for the better."

The belief above is highly irresponsible especially after knowing the ZERO integrity of the opposition - their high profile pioneer members have FLED the PKR.

Remember: Better the devil you know than the ANGEL you just met!

P.S. the angel could be the devil king himself in disguise

I will not take another chance and vote for the PR again. I've not seen my elected rep since the fateful day in 2008. She is too busy with her political agenda and have no time left to serve the constituency. At least the previous rep from BN did come by with a group of people (including the press) in tow whenever there's issues to be addressed. Although the entourage is taunted as cheap publicity, the rep was there to be seen by all and sundry. Not the present PR rep, not a ghost of her for the past 2 years.

I hope that in future in the interest of healthy debate those who attack the messenger instead of the message will refrain from such tactics. In my religion if you make a offensive personal comment on me an if I do not accept it then that offensive comment belongs and applies to the person who made that offensive comment.
