Shahrizat: Let Pak Lah and Najib do their jobs

KUALA LUMPUR: Pressuring the Prime Minister and his deputy on the leadership transition issue will distract them from national administration and Umno matters, said the party women’s wing deputy chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.
She said the responsibilities of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at present was to strengthen Umno, boost the country’s economy and implement development projects for the people.
“I hope all Umno members can understand their (Abdullah and Najib’s) responsibilities,” she said in a statement.
Shahrizat added that she supported Abdullah’s stand to defend his Umno presidency in the party elections in December.
She also supported his announcement of plans for Najib to be his successor, and hoped that the transition of power would be carried out in a proper and well-mannered method.
On Friday, Abdullah said that he and Najib had reached an agreement on the right time for a leadership change.
He also reiterated that they were both in a good working relationship, contrary to negative speculation.
Najib had also said earlier that he would not challenge Abdullah because he would not risk destroying the party his father had helped to build.

tunku : of course this women, shahrizat will support pak lah till the last blood as she is receiving more than RM 400,000 a year being an adviser to pak lah on woman affairs.i wonder why government spending so much money paying her more than 400k a year, more than 30k a month.it's a waste of tax payer money especially when we already have a minister who is in charge of woman affairs.
