Umno VPs Applaud Delegates' Speeches

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- Speeches by the delegates on the first day of Umno General Assembly here today have won praises from the party's vice presidents -- Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Ali said: "The quality of debate was good because they focused on important matters and explained the issues clearly."
The points raised also showed that they were confident of being able to bring victories to Barisan Nasional in the next general election, he said.
Muhyiddin said the delegates managed to expound on the president's policy address comprehensively covering the development aspect of the Malays in the next 50 years.
"They also appreciate the president's remarks on the New Economic Policy which should be accepted well by all quarters," he said.

tunku : of course the leaders will apllaud the delegates's speech as the delegates are already made to say what the leaders wants to hear and for me the umno assembly this year is only focusing on the coming election, so bear with it. all sweet talks.even mukhriz mahathir had said that this year speech by pak lah is the best he has heard.
