KUCHING, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- The political imbroglio that breaks out in Perak is a warning for Pakatan Rakyat which previously was very ambitious to form a government at the federal level, Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud said today.
He said the impending collapse of Pakatan Rakyat government in Perak should serve as a lesson for the three-party alliance with regard to their desire to set up a new federal government by claiming a number of Barisan Nasional (BN) representives would cross over.
"Don't start this form of political hijack. It is a lesson for Pakatan Rakyat. They are bearing the brunt of this," said Taib who is Sarawak BN chairman here.
He was commenting on the move by three Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen -- Hee Yit Foong (DAP-Jelapang), Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi (PKR-Behrang) and Mohd Osman Jailu (PKR-Changkat Jering) -- to leave their parties and become independent representatives.
Bota assemblyman Datuk Nasarudin Hashim who crossed over to PKR on Jan 25, meanwhile, is rejoining Umno.
Taib said what happened to Pakatan Rakyat in Perak had been expected from the start and their were being punished for what they had done to BN.
tunku : i hope after this pakatan rakyat will stop political hijack as they had seen the implication. by right they should just concentrate developing the 5 states under them and proof it to the malaysian that they could be better than BN but what they did since 8th March is attacking BN and trying to topple the federal government.pakatan should realized by now how anwar the moron had put them in trouble today. nizar and perak exco can't even enjoy the new camry they bought. as for BN, they must work day and night to win back people's confident. this will be their last chance to proof to the malaysian.if they still make mistakes like before, then next GE, the people will not vote them. BN should continue working and stop all politicking.Umno will have to do that after march. there is still much politicking within umno because of their coming election.
