Nizar Did Not Keep Promise To Abide By Sultan's Decision

IPOH, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin's and his executive council members' refusal to step down from their posts, as ordered by the Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah, showed that he did not keep his promise to respect the decision.
Mohammad Nizar said on Wednesday that he would abide by any decision made by the Sultan of Perak in resolving the state's political crisis.
However, at a news conference here on Thursday, he said that he still legally holds the post of Menteri Besar in accordance with the Laws of the Constitution of Perak.
Article XVI (6) of the State Constitution states that if the Menteri Besar ceases to command the confidence of the majority of the members of the Legislative Assembly, then, unless at his request His Royal Highness dissolves the Legislative Assembly, he shall tender the resignation of the Executive Council.
Article XVI (7) of the State Constitution states that subject to clause (6), a member of the Executive Council other than the Menteri Besar shall hold office at His Royal Highness' pleasure, but any member of the Council may at any time resign his office.
Mohammad Nizar had also said that he was confident that any decision made by the Sultan of Perak would be in the best interest of all and that he would abide by and accept whatever the decision might be.
Sultan Azlan Shah decided not to give his consent to the dissolution of the Perak state assembly and ordered Mohammad Nizar and his state executive council to step down with immediate effect.
The office of the Sultan of Perak, in a statement, said that after meeting all the 28 BN assemblymen and the three independents, the sultan was convinced that Mohammad Nizar had ceased to command the confidence of the majority of the state assembly members.

tunku : since when these people abide any decision that is against them.they will promise moon and stars but when time comes they will turn 360 degrees. just look what anwar the moron's with the rest of pakatan's leaders comment.when bota assemblymen jump to pkr, everyone praises him, etc and never even mention about having election there.at that time everything was fair.now, everything is not fair and this nizar is going against the Sultan.By the way, i would like to ask nizar whether the camry had gone for first service?
