KUCHING: Sarawak Assistant Sports Minister Dublin Unting Ingkot, who was in a coma after suffering a stroke nine months ago, passed away at a private hospital here at 1:25am Tuesday. He was 56.
The long-serving Batang Ai assemblyman was Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) vice-president.
Ingkot, also the assistant minister for Agriculture (Research and Coordination), retained the seat after beating challenger Nicholas Bawin from the Sarawak National Party (SNAP) in the May, 2006 state election.
His remains would be taken to his uncompleted new house at Stutong here at about 2:30pm, according to Wilson Ugak, a political secretary to the Chief Minister.
Ingkot suffered a stroke following a radio interview.
He leaves behind widow Datin Froline Moriah Dimies Impoi and three children.
