Pakatan ready to face fresh election-Anwar

In BUKIT MERTAJAM, Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today said that the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) state government in Perak was strong and stable despite talk that state assemblymen from the coalition would join the Barisan Nasional (BN).
He said representatives from the (PR) had given assurances to the Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, in a meeting this morning that they would stand behind the state government.
"Till now we find the Perak state government is stable and we will defend the position of the Menteri Besar and the PR state government," Anwar told reporters after a discussion with six Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) representatives, including Datuk Nasaruddin Hashim who recently joined PKR, at Yayasan Aman here.
He said this when asked to comment on the statement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in Kuala Lumpur today that he did not rule out the possibility of PR state assemblymen in Perak joining the BN.
Asked if he could dismiss that possibility, Anwar said: "I am not suggesting anything and I'm saying that for now the state government is stable."
However, he said if such a situation arose the PR will face it.
"If we have to face the people, that would be good as we are confident of facing them in a an election," he said.
Asked about the presence of the PKR assemblymen today, he said only six showed up as the other two, Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu, chairman of tourism, human development and non-governmental organisations committee and Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi state entrepreneur development and cooperatives committee chairman were reported as "missing".
"The two missing could not be contacted, the others could," he said.
Anwar said till now there was no information on the two said to be missing for four to five days.

tunku : this master moron, the queen of melodrama said that they are confident of facing election, then why is he trying to buy out bn state assemblymen and members pf parliament? if you are so confident, just wait for the election. i wonder what is his latest "numbers" right now.
