Khairy Admits Aggressiveness To Ensure BN Victory
PASIR MAS, March 3 (Bernama) -- Umno Youth vice- head Khairy Jamaluddin said that he is taking an aggressive approach against the opposition merely to look after the interests of the Barisan Nasional (BN) and ensure the coalition's victory in the general election.
He said his aggressive nature was necessary especially in countering the opposition and he was not bothered if such attitude was being exploited by them to criticise him.
"As Umno Youth vice-head, I am certainly aggressive in countering the opposition. To the PAS supporters, it may be used as a good political capital. But I know that the BN supporters understand such an attitude is necessary to bring change," he told reporters after visiting the Pasir Tuku People's Service Centre, here today
Also present during the visit were Rantau Panjang Umno head who is also the BN candidate for the Bukit Tuku state seat, Datuk Mohd Zain Ismail; the candidate for Rantau Panjang parliamentary seat, Afandi Yusoff; the candidate for Gual Periuk state seat Datuk Shaari Mat Hussain; and the candidate for Meranti state seat, Abdullah Mat Yassin.
Khairy, who is also contesting the Rembau parliamentary seat in Negeri Sembilan, said the opposition had run out of issues when they kept harping on his status as the son-in-law of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, in their campaign and ceramah.
He lashed out at the opposition for playing up the issue because the opposition were also in the same boat when their leaders' children were contesting in the general election.
"I don't understand why they want to play up the issue that I'm the Prime Minister's son-in-law whereas there are children of opposition leaders who are involved in politics too," he said.
He said among the children of opposition leaders who were involved in politics were Nurul Izzah, who is the daughter of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Nurul Izzah, as the PKR candidate for the Lembah Pantai Parliamentary seat, will face incumbent Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, who is the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development.
Elsewhere, DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang's son, Lim Guan Eng, is contesting the Bagan parliamentary seat while DAP chairman Karpal Singh's son, Gobind Singh Deo is contesting the Puchong parliamentary seat.
tunku : kj said that his aggressiveness is important for him as he is umno deputy youth leader, wow! so that means you can act anyway you like, furthermore you are the son in-law of the pm. BN does not support aggressiveness in any kind.BN was always a moderate party till you came in.there was once an aggressiveness evil in umno and thank god he is no longer an umno member and that is anwar ibrahim.may be one day kj ends up like him.he'll be a de facto leader to some party.
please stop comparing guang eng and nurul izzah as their parents or in-law are not the prime minister of malaysia.there is a huge difference there.by the way your presence in kelantan will ensure pas to retain kelantan as you are a jinx to them.
