Election result a lesson for all, says Muhyiddin

PUTRAJAYA, March 17 — Umno vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said yesterday the political tsunami of the March 8 general election was a lesson demanding all quarters, including the country's leadership, to seek a suitable approach to regain the people's confidence.
He asked the party's grassroots leaders to explain to the peoeple the current political situation in the country so that they would not be directionless.
Muhyiddin described the failure of the Barisan Nasional (BN) to secure a two-thirds majority in parliament as a serious situation which all quarters had to accept with an open heart.
In the general election, the BN also failed to recapture Kelantan from PAS and lost Kedah, Penang, Perak and Shttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.photo.gif

Meanwhile, Johor Umno Youth has proposed holding a special Umno assembly soon to discuss the differences of opinion on the party's performance in the general election.
Its chairman for special functions, Suhaimi Khalid, said the differences of opinion involving party leaders and members would only weaken the Malays.
He said the special assembly should be convened soon, even before the Umno general assembly expected to be held in August.
"The special assembly will enable the party members to engage in discussions to resolve their differences. We cannot go on blaming one another.
"Umno president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and other leaders can address the assembly and ask the grassroots to close ranks.
"Most importantly, we have to restore the people's confidence in Umno," he said. — Bernama

tunku : muhyiddin said that the result was a serious threat but according to pak lah is a big mandate.so which one is true? some of umno leaders till date have failed to realized that umno is in deep trouble.they need to take some serious action from now on and stop being 'yes man' all the time.

With Pak Lah with his KJ and Jeanne syndrome and Najib with his Altantuya disorder, I think Muhyiddin may be a better choice for Malaysia's next PM to replace Pak Lah.
