After dropped from Cabinet, Shahrizat appointed as special adviser to PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Tues:

Former Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil has been appointed special adviser to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for women’s and social development.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Department faxed to Bernama, the appointment, which carries a ministerial rank, will be effective from tomorrow. Shahrizat lost the March 8 general election to Nurul Izzah Anwar of the PKR in the Lembah Pantai parliamentary seat.
The statement said that Shahrizat, in carrying out her duties and responsibilities, will work closely with her previous ministry which is now helmed by Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen.
Abdullah will also have an adviser on Islamic religious affairs and another on foreign affairs.
After the cabinet announcement which saw Wanita Umno’s chief Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz and Shahrizat dropped, the movement had an emergency meeting, presumably to discuss the absence of key Wanita Umno Cabinet representation.
Although yesterday’s meeting was scheduled for 5.15pm, it only began at about 5.40pm. A notable absence was Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz.
When the meeting ended an hour later, Shahrizat left without speaking to the Press, despite having informed them earlier that she would be giving a statement. Wanita representatives later told the Press that Rafidah would be issuing an official statement at 2.30pm tomorrow.

tunku : if shahrizat is special adviser then what's Ng Yen Yen going to do? Do all the paperworks? i thought pak lah said he will not choose anybody who lost.pak lah will never learn.just because rafidah was jumping, he's appointing shahrizat as his special adviser.

Pak Lah did the right thing in dropping kak pidah as she has been too long in MITI and how she handled the AP issue has been biggest source of embarrassment to Pak Lah. I bet kak pidah is now shedding tears which will flood her constituency of KK, replacing the annual banjir waters. But are they mata air buaya? Perhaps you can answer this my dear Tunku.

Have a nice day..and oh before I forget, give kak pidah wads and wads of tissue paper..she needs these to wipe the mata air buaya from her eyes. You can bet your bottom dollar kak pidah will not break the heels of her shoes because she will not run up the stage to stop him should Pak Lah announce his resignation!

There will be a tussle between ng yen2 and sharizat. WHo's going to run what? Does ministerial status mean she sits in the wednesday meetings?

I humbly advise DS Sharizat not to accept the post. It is a mockery to the government. If fidah is not appointed, then you should not accept the post because you lost in PRU12!! If fidah goes with wht she said, than you are going to be ketua wanita yang tidak bermaruah dan dihormati!!!!

We don't have any other choices, but to retire pak lah.
