Anwar dreaming BIG
Sarawak MPs will not defect
KUCHING: The 30 Barisan Nasional MPs from Sarawak will not defect to the Opposition, Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud said.
Asked to comment on speculation that PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would try to persuade the MPs to join the opposition parties, Taib said: “He must be dreaming.”
He added: “Don’t imagine the protest votes give him the miraculous power to bring everybody into one camp. The content of his struggle is yet to be seen.”
Taib, who was speaking to reporters after briefing the MPs at Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu headquarters here on Tuesday night, said the MPs were preparing a letter of support to be given to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
“All 30 MPs in Sarawak support Pak Lah and want him to continue as Prime Minister,” he said.
Asked whether he would lobby for greater representation in the Cabinet, he said he would leave the decision to Abdullah.
“I don’t normally lobby for things like this. We are in Barisan and he knows the feeling in Sarawak, so I think he’ll take note of it,” he added.
In the recently concluded polls, Sarawak delivered the biggest number of seats for Barisan by winning 30 of the 31 seats in the state, losing only Bandar Kuching to the DAP.

My dear tunku,
I'm not too sure of calling anwar a moron at this stage. Everyone knows the katak politicians in Sabah (and also Sarawak) are always ready to jump ship at any time provided the price offered to them is right. By now, my dear Tunku, you should have been aware that Sabah politicians change parties as often as they change their clothes, including underwear. If these very same politicians were to subsequently defect to Anwar, then you and your blog, my dear Tunku, will be the laughing stock of the blogging fraternity. I hope this will not happen. Have a nice day.
tak dak nama,
i'm not sure about sabah but i can be sure of that sarawak bn will never accept anwar or will 'lompat' to anwar's camp.
Kak Tunku,
We underestimated Anwar prior to the General Elections (GE), and we were proven wrong by none other than rakyat. I warned in one of my comments in your blog prior to the GE for BN not underestimate Barisan Rakyat as it might invite disaster. I just hope that we now do not underestimate another possible wave.
