Sultan extremely disappointed with DAP and PKR

The Sultan of Selangor has reprimanded DAP and PKR for submitting only one name for the position of Selangor Mentri Besar.

Despite the decree by Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah on August 27 for the three parties to submit more than two names for the post, a statement from the Sultan's private secretary Datuk Mohd Munir Bani confirmed that only PAS had submitted three names.

"The Sultan is extremely disappointed with DAP and PKR for not abiding to his royal highness' decree and naming only (PKR president) Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

"The act of DAP and PKR showed arrogance to the royal institution and also treason to the Sultan of Selangor," Munir said.

Munir added that the decree by the Sultan, asking the three parties to nominate more than two names for the position, was a convention practiced by the palace.

"This is so the Sultan can choose a suitable candidate who does not only have the majority support of the assemblymen but also in terms skills, experiences, integrity and capabilities.

"These aspects are important to guarantee a smooth administration of the state government for the purpose of looking after the harmonious aspect of the people of Selangor," he said, adding that Sultan felt there were many in the coalition that posed such leadership qualities.

Munir said the Sultan would now scrutinise each names before making a decision.

"The power of appointing a Mentri Besar rests in the hands of the Sultan and hence the Tuanku will also go through all other assemblymen in Pakatan Rakyat which the Sultan feels is qualified and has the majority support of the House," he said.

DYMM Sultan is absolutely right. But the DAP's & PKR's arrogance @ obstinacy will only make His Highness's job easier if not pleasant. Choose only from among the candidates proposed by PAS. To hell with DAP & PKR!
