The Proton Preve, which has previously garnered 5-star ratings in the Australasian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP) and Asean NCAP, has now added another award to its list of achievements : “Winner in the Medium Family Adult Occupant Protection category”.
In so doing, the Preve beat fellow C-segment nominees Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Altis, Proton Holdings Bhd said in a statement today.
“The announcement of the award was made at the Asean NCAP Grand Prix Awards in Kuching, Sarawak on Aug 27.
“This award is a strong testimony of how much Proton has grown throughout the years,” said chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Harith Abdullah.
“Proton has invested a lot in technology and enhancing our talents to perform beyond our comfort zone.

“It isn’t easy to come to this stage especially with the perception that Malaysian-made products are of inferior quality.

“Winning this award from Asean NCAP puts us in a better position in changing the mindset of the public.”

Besides its high standard of safety, he said the Preve is one of the global cars of Proton that offers the most well-equipped and advanced technological features in terms of performance, styling, driving dynamics and sophistication.

“As we have always mentioned, Proton continuously work on improving our R&D and testing, to ensure that our cars are not only of good quality but to also have safety features of international standards.
“We mean what we say and we shall keep doing better."
