PENANG: PAS will not be fielding a candidate in the Penanti by-election.PAS election director Datuk Mustafa Ali said the Pakatan Rakyat coalition of PAS, DAP and PKR had an understanding that there shall be no infighting among themselves in elections."As such, Penang PAS Youth's intention to field a candidate in the by-election has been denied," he told Bernama when contacted on Friday.PKR has announced that its Penang deputy liasion chief Mansor Othman, 56, would be contesting the state seat which was vacated by Penang Deputy Chief Minister I Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin, who is also from PKR. The Barisan Nasional has yet to announce whether it would be contesting the seat. Polling is scheduled for May 31.

tunku : it is known that pas will bow down to pkr.they have been doing it since day one pakatan is formed.they are just a follower in pakatan not a strong partner.pakatan did not hold a meeting to discuss the candidate for penanti but pkr( chief moron) just announced it.just another drama by pakatan.

We are about to make another FATAL mistake again to talk about PKR, PAS or DAP or Pakatan Rakyat coming this Penanti by election.

We should talk about what we can do to the Penanti voters. We need to convince Penanti voters what make a different IF they voted for us.

Unless we are going to repeat the same thing as in Permatang Pauh, Kuala Trengganu, Bukit Gantang, Bukit Selambu. my perception so far at this initial stage about this election we are playing the same old musics AND believe me if that so we are going to have the same old result.

Where is the post mortern for all the other by elections as promised by our leaders. We are still closing our eyes...for what. Let face it, improve for good and move forward.

Penanti will be won by PR, contest or no contest. Shall we contest, then? If we contest, then let Najib go to the ground, this time.
