KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 (Bernama) -- Popular comedy actress Yusni Jaafar died of liver failure at Selayang Hospital early today.
The 63-year-old Yusni, who was admitted to the hospital on Jan 31, breathed last at 2.30am, her daughter, Raja Ema, told Radio24 Bernama.
Raja Ema said her mother's body was taken to their family home at No. 37, Jalan USJ 3/2, Taman Seafield Jaya, Subang Jaya, for family members, relatives and friends to pay their last respects.
The funeral rites were performed at the mosque in USJ 15 before she was buried at the USJ 21 muslim cemetery.
The Tumpat-born Yusni is survived by five children.
Among her notable achievements in her movie-acting career was winning the "Best Comedy Actress Award" at the 8th Malaysian Film Festival in 1989.
Yusni last acted in the film "Cuci" last year. Her first movie was " Panglima Badol" in 1978. She had acted in about 20 local movies.
