Aide: Ku Li not to be blamed for defeat

KOTA BARU: An aide of Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has said that the veteran Gua Musang Umno chief should not be blamed for Umno’s defeat in Kelantan in the March 8 general election.
Mohd Lukman Ghani, the Kelantan prince’s personal officer, said Tengku Razaleigh was not the state Umno liaison committee chairman and neither was he consulted despite his stature as a veteran leader.
“In the meetings that he attended, Ku Li (Tengku Razaleigh) spoke his mind when given an opportunity but in most circumstances, his views were only taken in passing,” he said.
Lukman was responding to a statement by Umno president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi that Tengku Razaleigh was the reason Barisan Nasional lost Kelantan and that he did nothing to win back the state for Barisan.
He said Tengku Razaleigh did make efforts to seek an appointment with Abdullah during party meetings but the appointment never materialised.
Lukman said Tengku Razaleigh decided to be more outspoken now out of concern for Umno.
“If everything he does is being interpreted personally, it shows the mentality of the present party leaders who have become afraid of their own shadow,” he said.

tunku : hmmmm, if a goat accuses pak lah , the goat will be blamed too for the defeat of the election.

By the way, who should be blamed for BN's fall in PENANG? Koh Tsu Koon for his desire to move to federal? Or someone else for not naming ONE leader as the CM-to-be? Or someone who frustrated a lot of UMNO groups in Penang which wanted to tell the truth but could not as scheduled meetings with that person were always cancelled for reason Allah knows best.

On another note, I think BN/UMNO concentrated a lot on "menakluk & merawat" Kelantan to the extent of forgetting to maintain other states already in precarious positions.

To Pak Lah - your political advisors including your political secretaries and press secretary should be sacked for not giving you the right information and analysis.
