Samy's Gangsters At GAS gathering.

Commotion Mars Anti-samy Vellu Rally

KLANG, July 4 (Bernama) -- The Anti-Samy Vellu Movement (GAS) gathering was today marred by a commotion fuelled by a group of 50 MIC supporters who claimed loyalty to party president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu.
The incident occurred outside Dewan Hamzah near here about 1.30pm when the supporters discouraged the public from taking part in the gathering.
Realising the commotion outside the hall, the event organisers asked some of their followers to defuse the situation but the other group refused to budge, resulting in an argument, followed by a minor scuffle.
"Don't you dare speak of MIC. Don't you dare utter Samy Vellu's name. Get out of this hall, stop this gathering," said a member of the group, believed to have been led by Selangor MIC information chief L. Siva Subramaniam, former Taman Maznah MIC branch chairman S. Chandran and former Klang MIC division chief K. Tharmalingam.
However, good sense prevailed as the police were called in to prevent any untoward incident.
According to event organiser K. P. Samy, a sacked MIC central working committee (CWC) member, he was unable to hold a peaceful gathering as planned, and accused Samy Vellu of bringing in people to disrupt the gathering.
"All we wanted to do was to chart out the future of Indians in the country and get their support, before handing it to the prime minister," he said.
Samy also handed out a four-page memorandum containing nine issues, to the media. Among others, the memorandum called on the government to lower the schooling age to five, reduce personal tax, establish kindergartens within existing Tamil schools, rehabilitate prisoners and re-define poverty.
Meanwhile, former MIC Youth deputy chief V. Mugilan said today's gathering was a success, judging by the large turnout.
"We will keep on fighting to make sure Samy Vellu steps down as president soon," he said, adding that more than 1,000 people attended the event.
Former MIC CWC member G. Kumar Aaman said the gathering was held in line with non-violence philosophy. The gathering ended about 3pm, two hours earlier than scheduled, on the advice of the police.
The first GAS gathering on May 30, held at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre, was attended by more than 5,000 people.
The GAS movement was initiated by Mugilan to get 500,000 signatures from MIC members nationwide to force Samy Vellu to relinquish his post this month, instead of in 2011.

tunku : wonder why samy has to be afraid of GAS till he has to send some "gangsters" to disrupt the gathering organised by GAS. MIC members should realized by now that samy is a liabilty and not an asset to the party. there are many leaving the party.

Samada benar atau tidak boleh kita wait and see samada 50 ahli MIC yang membuat kacau itu akan dikenakan tindakan disiplin atau tidak oleh Samy.
