Hindraf - Time To Act

Sedition: Hindraf leaders to know next week
KUALA KANGSAR: The decision whether or not to charge leaders of the Hindu Rights Action Force Hindraf with sedition will be known next week, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz.
He said police had conducted an investigation into whether Hindraf was behind a recent petition accusing the Government of carrying out ethnic cleansing of Indians here.
“Police have been asked to investigate the authenticity of the document and whether it had really been signed by them (Hindraf leaders),” he told reporters after attending a mass circumcision ceremony involving 57 children at Sekolah Rendah Agama Rakyat An-Najah in Taman Kuala Kangsar here on Sunday.
Mohamed Nazri said if there was evidence that the petition was seditious, the Attorney-General could prosecute them.
“We expect to get a feedback (from the Attorney General’s Office) within this week,” he said.
Last Sunday, police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse an illegal gathering organised by Hindraf.
Thousands converged at various locations in the city to support Hindraf’s plan to submit a petition with 100,000 signatures to the British High Commission.
The petition was to ask Queen Elizabeth II to appoint a Queen’s Counsel to represent the Indian community in a class-action suit filed against the British government for bringing Indians as indentured labourers to the then Malaya and exploiting them.

Umno V-P: Revoke their citizenship

MALACCA: Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam has rebuked Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) leaders for their “outrageous actions” and urged the Government to revoke their citizenship.
He said Hindraf’s claim that the country was involved in ethnic cleansing was slanderous and very serious.
“There is no such thing. They should be in jail for saying that,” he said at the launch of the Federation of Malay Economic Bodies (Gabem) southern region and Federal Territory here yesterday.
Mohd Ali said he would fully support it if the Internal Security Act was used against those who organised the illegal Hindraf gathering.
“They are going to send their memorandum to India, Britain and even the United Nations. These people are betraying their own country,” he added.

tunku : next week is too long, the sedition is very serious, act now and don't wait till next week.on the ground, the heat is tremendous, before it explodes, it's good that the authority take fast action.hope those people won't be running seeking political asylum.
