PM's Wife Jeanne Abdullah Conferred First Class Melaka Award

MELAKA, June 30 (Bernama) -- Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah, the wife of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, was today conferred "Darjah Utama Negeri Melaka".
The first-class Melaka award carries the "Datuk Seri Utama" title.
Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Khalil Yaakob bestowed the award at the Banquet Hall of Seri Negeri here.
Present were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam, Khalil's wife, Toh Puan Zurinah Kassim, state dignitaries and invited guests.
Khalil will entertain Abdullah and Jeanne to dinner at Istana Seri Melaka tonight.

tunku : melaka has start the counting for the title of jeanne abdullah, after this we'll see lots to come. earlier an orchid species was named after jeanne abdullah by ali rustam.may be there will be a new dewan(hall) named 'dewan sri jeanne' after a dewan in umno hq at pwtc named 'dewan sri endon'.i wonder why don't the "virus melaka" be named "virus jeanne" .
