Umno members protest MACC, disciplinary board actions

KUALA LUMPUR: A group of people turned up to protest against the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for arresting Umno members, and against the party’s disciplinary board.
Claiming to be Umno members, they turned up at about 8pm Thursday at the main entrance to Menara Datuk Onn, the building where party leaders were scheduled to hold a supreme council meeting.
They held up placards that read “The Disciplinary Board is senile,” “Don’t take away our rights” and “We reject the MACC, butt out!”
The group shouted out their demands at Umno leaders and supreme council members as they arrived at the building, and handed over a memorandum to party president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi when he arrived at about 8.35pm.
Zuraidi Abd Rahim, who said he was a delegate from Baling, claimed the group represented about 2,500 Umno Youth delegates nationwide.
The memorandum protested disciplinary board chairman Tengku Tan Sri Ahmad Rithaudeen’s suggestion to abolish the main wings in the party, and the alleged beating of Umno members during interrogation by MACC officers.
“Two or three of them have since lodged police reports” on the alleged beatings, he said.
The police reports were attached to the memorandum that was handed to Abdullah, who is also the Prime Minister.
Another protestor, Saiful Ismail Saaya, who claimed to be a delegate from Kuala Kangsar, said grassroot members did not want Tengku Ahmad as disciplinary board chairman.
The group dispersed after Abdullah and his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak entered the building.

tunku : from baling, may be datuk rempit send them to protect their bosses.i don't believe they represent 2500 umno youth delegates nationwide.it's a total lie.the represents their bosses who are under fire.umno must be glad that macc is cleaning up the mess in the party for them.only those who feels the threat are against it.

"berani kerana benar,takut kerana salah"

if UMNO members feels that they did no wrong and never did any money politics then they should have no fear towards MACC.only those who did committed such offence is now being like "cacing kepanasan".haha.

the people that protest is the people that are afraid if something.afraid that they might lose the seat and benefit of being the high ranking member in UMNO.afraid and ashamed if the public finds out about their wrongdoings.

it's the time now to kick out all the members that have disgraced the party.UMNO should get better and not worse.
