KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 12 (Bernama) -- Jerlun member of parliament Datuk Mukhriz Tun Mahathir has called on the United Nations to draw up a resolution to compel Israel to open up the blockade at the Rafah border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.He said this was to facilitate the entry of humanitarian relief into Gaza to provide aid to the hospital and clinic in the area.
"So long as the border remained blocked, I am worried that supplies would only pile up in Cairo and Rafah, south of Jordan and Lebanon, and would not reach the Palestinian people.
"So long as the UN cannot force the opening up of the border to let in the humanitarian convoy, the effort to help war victims in Gaza cannot be carried out," he said when debating the motion to condemn Israel's attacks on Gaza at the special parliament session on Monday.
Mukhriz also described the crisis in Gaza as attacks by Israel against the people of Palestine, and not a war in its true sense.
"The victims are not soldiers but civilians, including women and children," he said.

Only political solution could resolve this political conflict between Palestine & Israel.
Jordan politically did that and since then there no more war between them and Israel. Egypt did the same and since then also there no more war between them.
It is about time for Palestine to also do so. Their outdated scrap rockets would not resolve their real problem for the palestinian. For the last 60 years their problems have remain.
It is about time for all palestinian leaders to wake up and combine together to negotiation table with Israel for the sake of Palestinian women and children.
Sadly to note that the air strikes, ground assault and sea missiles are all what Hamas has asking for. Sadly also to note Hamas only has a scrap rocket to response. So Hamas should stop this act of stupidity.
Hamas or Fatah or others fraction group or Palestine should go on negotiation table as one. Only Palestinian intellectuality is comparable to Israel. The military strenght NOT.
more half of the victims between the feud between hamas and zionis is the civilians.border should be opened for the civilians to receive a better health care and humanitarian aid.
and not to mentioned the deceased also need to be buried well.the civilians there bury the decease at any time they possible can eventhough the Zionis keeps firing.everywhere is a target zone for zionis in Gaza.
