Aman Malaysia To Send Doctors To Gaza

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 22 (Bernama) -- Aman Malaysia is making preparations to send a team of doctors from this country to provide humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza within a week from today, said its coordinator, Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir.
He said that the team would try to enter Rafah, including the Gaza Strip to provide emergency aid and medical supplies to the people who were suffering from the bombing attacks by the Israeli regime there.
The team would face great risks when entering the border on the Gaza Strip as the safety was not guaranteed, he told reporters after launching the 'Palestine Fund Night' here, tonight.
He said Aman Malaysia was not launching any fund but had a role in receiving and handing over the funds launched throughout the country to the 'Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians' set up by the Foreign Ministry at Wisma Putra
Mukhriz, who is also chairman of the Umno Youth International Relations and Non-Governmental Organisations Bureau, said all donations received would be managed by the Foreign Ministry which would channel them to bodies entrusted to manage the aid.

The public can send their donations for Gaza via Maybank account 5144 2210 2657 or by sending cheques in the name of 'MRCS International Aid Fund' by writing 'Gaza City' at the back.

More information on the donation can be obtained from www.mercy.org.my or telephone number 03-22733999.
