Muhyiddin urges PAS to let bygones be bygones

KUALA KRAI: Deputy UMNO president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin urged PAS to let bygones be bygones, forget conflict and revenge, and get down to unity talks for the betterment of Muslims.
The Deputy Prime Minister said Umno wanted talks on a unity government to be speeded up.
He said that he wanted the talks to materialise because he feared that if the matter was allowed to prolong it would create disunity among the Muslims.
"We will not impose any conditions and we accept whatever terms set by PAS. As far as I'm concerned, we have to be open," Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, told reporters after a special meeting with educationists at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Sok here.
He urged PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat to forget about the conflicts between PAS and Umno in the 70s when both parties cooperated to form the Kelantan state government. But PAS later pulled out because of internal problems.
"As Muslims we are encouraged to forgive. That was in the past," he said.
Muhyiddin said PAS leaders who were disagreeable should see that the past conflicts had occurred under the old administration and PAS was now helmed by new leaders with a new direction and objective.
Nik Abdul Aziz, who strongly opposed the unity government proposal, told Nasharuddin Mat Isa on Wednesday to quit as PAS deputy president and Member of Parliament for Bachok and join Umno if he persisted in discussing the matter with Umno.
Muhyiddin said Nik Abdul Aziz's rejection of the proposal was an internal matter which PAS had to resolve.
To him, the important thing was PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang's aspiration to make the unity government a success, he said, adding that PAS must make the first move to initiate the effort.
" We hope (that the meeting takes place) in the next few days, anytime, no problem," he added.
He said that initially the meeting should be between PAS and Umno only before the matter was discussed in a comprehensive manner with component parties of Barisan Nasional and the opposition alliance.
On claims by the opposition that Umno was weak for wanting to work with PAS, Muhyiddin said the Barisan was still strong in the government as was evident from the fact that it had more MPs than the opposition in the Dewan Rakyat.
Earlier, in his speech, he said it was Umno's aspiration to see Muslims in the country united and of one mind despite having different political ideologies.
It saddened him to see the Muslims disunited now, all because of political differences which caused unity and integration among the Muslims to be sidelined, he said.

tunku : till there is nik aziz, pas will not able to let the bygones be bygones. there will always be hatred, revenge etc. i wonder which kitab this tok guru is reading?

Bukankah Nik Aziz telah mengeluarkan fatwa boleh berkawan dengan syaitan.

Maka hasutan syaitanlah yang telah diikutnya. Bukankah Syaitan mengajak manusia supaya jangan bersatupadu?

Hi.

Just an anology.

Someone invites you to his house then slaps and kicks you out.

20 years later, he invites you again to his house.

You wanna let "bygones be bygones"?

Excuse my language but that is called bodoh!

Tok Guru is THE most revered religous leader in Msia and you dare question "which kitab he uses"?

So freaking revered that even non-Muslims ask for his blessings.

Eh, know your place lah.

If you like UMNO so much, join UMNO la. Leave PAS alone.

Same goes to all the UMNO puppets in PAS.

JUST MASUK UMNO. Leave PAS alone.

Win-win.

kudablos,
if you are muslim then you won't think that way.
as you said, if someone invites you to his house then slaps you because YOU STAB THEM AT THE BACK, was the right thing to do at that time but as Muslims , Umno is forgetting all that but not your freaky tok guru.

Sedangkan Anwar dan segelintir pemimpin PAS boleh memaafkan Chin Peng, takkan lah dengan UMNO tak boleh nak bermaaf-maafan!

To Kudablos,

Nik Aziz is probably the most revered religous leader of PAS but certainly not Malaysia.
To many, he's more of a politician than ulamak.Oh Yes, you can argue on that !
To me he is the self styled POPE of PAS.He has already promised heaven for his supporters and I am sure he has forgiven their sins too.
He should have use himself for the betterment of the ummah and not allow himself to be used for the political agenda of others.
What more can I say of a man who once said that we can take demons as our friends.
Which kitab did that came from?

Satu kenyataan dan saranan yang rasanya tidak begitu bijak.

Secara tidak langsung mengakui bahawa sebelum ini UMNO ada melakukan sesuatu yang negatif terhadap Pas.
