ALOR SETAR, May 22 (Bernama) -- Umno has introduced two formulas, known as SMSS and KBSM, in an effort to win back Kedah in the next general election.Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan said the SMSS formula stressed on working day and night while KBSM encouraged Umno leaders to attend four important events, namely feast, funeral and visit new mothers and care for the ill.
"It is not impossible for Barisan Nasional (BN) to win over Kedah if they practise these two formulas," he told reporters holding a meeting with the State Umno Information Committee, here Friday.
He said all Umno Information machinery need to increase efforts to gain the confidence of the people.
He said Kedah Umno targetted to wrest back 10 state assembly and six parliamentary seat which they lost to the opposition in the last general election with a majority of less than 1,000 voters.
tunku : i am sure kedah umno will come back strong if they really work hard as there are still many who supports them but because of the previous administration, be it at the federal level or state level had shy them away.with mahadzir khalid out of the picture, there's hope for umno in kedah.we believe the new team will bring back the glory days for umno in kedah but with extra hard work.the KBSM(kenduri,bersalin,sakit dan mati) and SMSS(siang,malam,subuh dan senja) is a basic thing that umno should adapt at all time everywhere, not only in kedah.

This is a no brainer. As a politician, the market has always been the people. If we can make an anology, the politicians are the products and the people are buyers of the products. At these functions, transactions will take place. If the product is not there in the first place, then no transaction takes place. But do remember that the quality of the product counts as well! I do hope they realise this. In my kampong, the local product is defective beyond repair. In marketeing parlance, it is obselete, Withdraw the product.

1. the bn must work extremely harder to win the grass roots and those young voters, poor in kampungs plus middle incomes in towns. the bn must ensure rakyat can overcome the current economic crisis..no jobs, tols, goods price, etc
2. the bn must put behind the 'tradisi seat status quo' into cold storage. eg.if last time the seat was allocated to mic..then today they must look at the majority of the voters in the area..if they need to change to UMNO..let change..my gut feeling is pru13 mic, mca, gerakan will bungkus completely. majority of indian and chinese voters will go to pr. majority malays will go to bn. this goes to all the bn components.
3. if you want to win the football match, you have to choose the best striker to put the ball into the net. otherwise there is no win or you can still win by penalty shootout or opponent own goal... ha..ha.
4. stop politiking and cheap meneouvering in politics... eg want to get ching peng return..stop this nonsence..! put in place all the promises made during the last general election. considered done!
