TAIPING, May 9 (Bernama) -- All three Hindraf leaders, M. Manoharan, K. Vasantha Kumar and P. Uthayakumar were among 13 Internal Security Act (ISA) detainees who left the Kamunting Detention Centre in phases, here today.

Lawyer Uthayakumar who left in a family member's car, later stopped by the roadside, to speak to the press.
The Hindraf legal adviser who thanked his friends and supporters but not the government (because ISA still in force), added that he would not adhere to conditions set for his release but did not say what the conditions were.
Earlier, about 12.40pm, a group of detainees who were released, left in an Immigration Department van while another group which came out at 1.20pm in an unidentified van, was escorted by a number of police cars.
Yesterday, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein announced the release of 13 ISA detainees, including three Hindraf leaders, Uthayakumar, Manoharan and Vasantha Kumar.

The Hindraf legal adviser, who thanked his friends and supporters but not the government (because ISA still in force), added that he would not adhere to conditions set for his release but did not say what the conditions were.

tunku : i'm not against the released of the 12 ISA detainees but against the released of the biggest crook uthayakumar.he should not have been released.najib will see now the consequences of uthayakumar being released from ISA detention.pak lah made biggest mistake by releasing anwar the moron and now najib releasing uthayakumar. together they will destroy whatever left in the peace and stability in this country.uthayakumar did not adhere to te conditions set for his release and we demand the home ministry to take stern action on him asap.

Doing this to sidetrack what has happened in Perak? We need more intelligent leaders to run the country. The Perak incident has completely brought down BN's image. BN will suffer in the next GE. A foolish way of wresting power in a democracy. Get the advice of Mahathir before doing foolish things like this. And now because of that they have to substitute with something to sidetrack what went wrong. Wisdom in politics has gone down the drain. Mahathir should come back as PM.

we can always arrest him 7 times and release him 7 times. Some revolutionists are die hard. In three kingdom of chinese history, liew pei use 7 arrest 7 release to win back the General holding the castle. The die hard finally obeyed.
WOnder indian are applicable...
It is a problems, when many people got no time to read each other history, trying to manage each other ideologies.
But the strategy is simple. Giev them a chance. They may plan somethings quiet and smarter..
The future governing is about Smart management and not hard and tough....
People will only vote for Peace and stability, not criticism , confrontation and demostrasi...

Well...BUT we are still having 1001laws that the government still could use against them IF they are stepping into trouble area ever again.

Come on... we are independence for more than 50 years. We survive and develop due to others laws that in order. Therefore ISA alone is not a factor in keeping this country in order.

We have laws and we double-standard them. Who believes the law now? Nobody. Looks like laws are made to be broken. THe Constitution? The lawyers are interpretating it according to their whims and fancies depending on which side of their bread is buttered. Gone is the country now. I am looking for Mahathir. Where is he? Can he make a come back? I don't expect much from Najib. Are we drowning?

I personally support Mahathir's advice. This is called Wisdom. Both premiers should learn from Mahathir more, and humble themself to listen to what 'rakyat' want, but not few peoples in the cabinet!

If Mahathir is still PM, BN won't be in the situation like now! and our country could have more peace and better developments!
