'Indians failed to utilise chances'

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian ethnic Indian youths have failed to take advantage of economic opportunities extended by the government, a top minister
has said and asked them to come forward to utilise employment avenues.
Human Resources Minister Dr S Subramaniam said that last year, only 280 Indian youths attended the skill courses available at Industrial Training Institutes nationwide, when there were places for 900 Indian youths, the daily Tamil Nanban said on Tuesday.
He said many employers were reluctant to offer jobs to ethnic Indian youths as they did not have the necessary qualifications.
Lamenting that many youths were involved in undesirable activities, he urged ethnic Indian organisations to work together in tackling social ills.

tunku : the government is doing all it can to helps the indians but when government provides the opportunities, they simply failed to utilise it.blame this to the political parties like mic,ppp and especially the oppositions.they should have gather this youth and take full advantage of the offers given to them.party like pkr and dap should had helped them but failed.they only talk and talk and talk. where is hindraf ? i hope mic,ppp and others would gather the indians youth and give them necessary assistance.the BN government is giving the chances for them to improve their living standard.

Tunku, maybe they are still waiting for the RM1 million that the British government is paying them. This is all due to fault by the government because the HINDRAF leader is unable to bring back the money to Malaysia. All in cash. Thats why the take up percentage in the ASW also very low. Maybe when Anwar become our next PM then he will give each and everyone of them an ATM card to withdraw cash from bank at anytime. Anwar - everybody got cah.
