Murugiah sacking: PPP to suggest candidate for Cabinet post

KUALA LUMPUR: The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) will suggest a new candidate for the deputy minister’s post currently held by Senator Datuk T. Murugiah if he does not appeal the decision within 14 days.
“We’re prepared to lose him as a deputy minister if he does not file an appeal by the end of the 14 days,” PPP president Datuk M. Kayveas said on Monday.
“The post still ‘belongs’ to us and we will suggest a new candidate to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak,” he said, adding that Najib had agreed to let the party “sort out” its internal issues “on its own.”
The PPP disciplinary board expelled Murugiah and six others on Saturday for allegedly tarnishing the good name of the party and trying to get it de-registered.
Kayveas said then that Murugiah, a supreme council member, was sacked for using his deputy minister’s office in the Prime Minister’s Department to organise a press conference for his personal assistant Dr N.A. Shanmuganathan, and making defamatory remarks against the party and its leadership.
tunku : whatever happens to murugiah, i hope najib will not appoint ppp's representative in the cabinet fro now.enough is enough. ask ppp to proof the loyalty first and their worth in bn. all these while this tiny party always threathen to leave bn but till today they have not.hope najib be bold with them.let murugiah continue as deputy minister till his senatorship's term expire.

Kayveas is not fit to be a leader.
He causes damage that can not be repaired. If he continues the image of BN and politicians is not good .

Kayveas is not capable of loyalty nor principles and it is not a light matter .

Since Najib has 'break the norm' for not competing in the Penanti by-election (although I don't agree with the desicion), may be he would do the same by maintaining Murugiah as Independent Senator.

This is a great oppurtunity for Premier Najib to implement the transformation process by not giving back the post to PPP.

PPP must begining to learn a good lesson not to make fool of any appointment by the Premier. PPP also must do their home work correct by not suggesting any name that only temporary valid.

UMNO & BN having more urgent economic issues to face and solve. Our Premier Najib must show his leadership quality with this issue.

Regardless Deputy Minister Murugiah is representing PPP and not only himself. Therefore in this case PPP purposely for whatever reason has excused themself from Deputy Minister post.
