Selangor MB crisis: Khalid says he was not the only candidate

Other names besides his own have been forwarded to the Selangor Palace for the mentri besar post after the 2008 and 2013 general election, says Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

The Selangor Mentri Besar Khalid told a press conference, after chairing the weekly exco meeting, that other names for the top post had been sent through individual letters.

Khalid was responding to claims by PKR and DAP that only one name was submitted for Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah's perusal after the 2008 and 2013 general election.

PKR and DAP have refused to abide by the Sultan's decree to submit more names as potential mentri besar candidates to replace Khalid.

Both parties insist on only nominating PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Their excuse was that only one name had been submitted in the past.

When asked to comment on the matter, Selangor PAS commissioner Iskandar Samad, who was also in the press conference, said his party would be meeting tonight to discuss it.
