SHAH ALAM: Selangor Umno has echoed the call of Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to support Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim as the Selangor Mentri Besar.
The party's state chief Datuk Seri Noh Omar said all 12 Umno assemblymen in Selangor would support Khalid should there be a call for a vote of no confidence against him.
"In Umno, we will respect what is said by our leader.
"We are not like Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is arrogant and obnoxious when he was expelled from Umno (in 1998)," he told reporters after a meeting on GST at the Selangor Umno building Monday.
Noh also denied meeting Khalid or PAS members to discuss on any possible dissolution of the state assembly or calls for vote of no confidence against the Selangor MB.
Asked if he would welcome Khalid into the party since the latter is now party-less, Noh said it was premature to comment on such a predicament.
