Cops investigating ‘half-naked’ incident in Ipoh

Police are investigating reports of a “half-naked” couple who were spotted walking about near a bank here in broad daylight along Jalan Sultan Yussuf here.

Ipoh District Acting Police Chief Supt Ahmad Termizi Abdul Haq said a police team was sent to the area on Monday after the department received photographs of the couple through the mobile messaging WhatsApp.
However, when they arrived at the location, the couple, believed to be models, had already left.

"An order has been issued to the station police chief and members that if they come across any immoral and indecent behaviour, they should advise or take action to stop it," Supt Ahmad Termizi said, here.

However, he said to date, police had not received any reports lodged over the incident, adding that it was being investigated under Section 41 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for indecent behaviour.

Supt Ahmad Termizi reminded the public not to behave indecently in public places as it was an offence.

The couple drew public attention and their photographs caused a stir on social media.

The female model was reportedly wearing a white bikini and a veil while the man was clad in long black pants without a shirt.

The models were with a crew and believed to be on a wedding photography session at the location.
