City police have identified the main suspect behind the brutal murder of banker Hussain Ahmad Najadi.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the
man, known as Sei Ngan Chai, was still believed to be in the city.
Ku also said the police had released a CCTV photo of suspect.
Police also arrested a 44 year old taxi driver, who drove the getaway vehicle for the shooter.
It was reported yesterday that the police managed to get a photograph
of the suspect from a CCTV footage from a camera near the Lorong Ceylon
Kuan Yin Temple.
On Monday afternoon, Najadi was walking to his car with his wife
along Jalan Ceylon in the heart of the city after negotiating a land
deal at the temple.
A man came up behind him and opened fire, hitting him in the chest and lower abdomen. The man fled in a waiting taxi.
Najadi died on the spot while his 49-year-old Malaysian wife Cheong Mei Kuen was wounded in the arm.
