Pak Lah admitted to hospital for inflammation in leg

Former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi,74, has been admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) to seek treatment for his inflamed left leg, said his assistant special officer Teoh Ai Hua.

He said that Abdullah, fondly known as Pak Lah, was in stable condition and was admitted on Monday to treat cellulitis, an inflammation of connective tissue.

“After a full medical check-up by his doctors, he was advised to undergo treatment and is now resting,” he told The Star, when contacted, Saturday.

He also noted that Abdullah, who promotes the concept of Islam Hadari as a model for development in Malaysia, was not admitted to the IJN for any other ailment.
“In terms of health, he is recovering well and he was admitted to the IJN because his physicians are all there,” he said.

Meanwhile, Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said that he had spoken to Abdullah and was informed that he was not feeling well.
“I spoke to Pak Lah on the phone (and) he is in IJN. Not feeling well (and) pray for him to get well soon,” he tweeted.
