A former legal aide of Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has alleged that Anwar duped the court during a trial in September 2012.
M. Yuktesvaran has claimed that the PKR advisor tendered fake a medical certificate (MC) in order to postpone court proceedings over his involvement in the Bersih 3.0 rally.
Yuktesvaran said he did not reveal the matter earlier as he was afraid for his safety and did not want any trouble.
"I decided to break my silence after the Opposition claimed that the elections were rigged," he told reporters after lodging a police report at the Travers police station on Wednesday.
He said he handed evidence on the alleged MC to the police when he lodged the police report.
Anwar, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali and Rembau PKR division chief Badrul Hisham Shaharin pleaded not guilty to two charges against them at the Sessions Court here in May 2012 for their involvement in the rally.
They were charged under Section 4(2)(c) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2011 for participating in a street protest, with the intention of disobeying a warning issued by Magistrate Zaki Asyraf Zubir against the public from assembling at Dataran Merdeka from April 28 to May 1, in a court order on April 26
