KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- Efforts to gather supporters of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim after the Friday prayer at the Wilayah Mosque, Jalan Duta, here to walk in a procession to the Jalan Duta Courts Complex, nearby ended in failure as only about 50 supporters had turned up.The gathering, headed by Tian Chua, was supposed to walk in a procession from the Wilayah Mosque to the Kuala Lumpur Court but it had to be called off as the case had been postponed to Monday, while at the same time, there was a lack of supporters.
Tian Chua, who is also the Member of Parliament for Batu, later gave a speech to Anwar's supporters outside the mosque compound at about 2.30 pm.
Also present was the Member of Parliament for Sungai Petani, Datuk Johari Abdul.
Tian Chua said the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) would hold a ceramah every night at the PKR Headquarters in Damansara, besides staging a road tour throughout the country to inform its supporters on the sodomy charge faced by Anwar.
Earlier, three trucks carrying Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) personnel and two trucks fitted with water cannons were seen entering the compound of the Jalan Duta Court Complex at 10.15 am following talks that a demonstration would be held.
Anwar, 63, is charged with sodomising his personal assistant, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, 25, at Unit 11-5-1 Kondominium Desa Damansara, Jalan Setiakasih, Bukit Damansara, between 3.01 pm and 4.30 pm on June 26, 2008.
He is being charged under Section 377B of the Penal Code and could be jailed up to 20 years upon conviction.
tunku : first of all why need to do procession when the court case is going on? anwar has said many times that he's innocent,why pkr is so scared that they have to use dirty tactics.why the road shows,ceramah etc.the court will decide with given facts.leave it to the court. tian chua and pkr should realized that people now knows anwar well. that's why there is no supports even when the party called their supporters to show up and join the procession.not even 50 people turned up.

Gua sudah siap mau join itu demontrasi tadi petang sebab orang bilang boleh dapat duit,tapi gua hormat sama melayu sebab itu tempat mesjid punya area,lagi pun ini hari orang melayu sembahyang maa.Lagi satu gua punya papa ada cakap: Phak Yew! lu jangan pegi loh,nanti itu PKR orang betui2 hantamn lu punya belakang mcm itu Saipul maa..Jadi gua tak jadi pegi,manyak takot orang hantam gua punya belakang maa...!
Terlalu banyak kali dan terlalu lama penangguhan, situasi ini makan diri Anwar.
Rakyat hilang keyakinan, ada keraguan dan penyokong sudah jelak..
Anwar sudah muflis idea dan strategi untuk bangkit semula dan kini kesnya jadi 'bahan ketawa' kawan dan lawan.
Penyokong setia dan utama sebagai tunggqak sisa sisa semangat Anwar hanyalah Wan azizah, bilakah hatinya akan goyah??!!
Why at the mosque? why not at the indian or chinese temple?

1. this time of economic down turn, why the malays so stupid to go for demo and some more being fooled by this TC. You've got nothing to do or what..let him settle with court. if a thief or a robber, a raper can be dragged to go to court to get the justice, why can't him. Just because he got name and money, he can manage an array of lawyers to defend him. So you people out there, go to work to feed you family.
2. if today, there are people support a criminal or a raper, or a killer, even a sodomizer I think these people have gone insane and must have their heads checked. Your sympathy should go to the person who is being raped or killled, robbed, or sodomized.
Penyokong PKR, nak demonstrasi?buatlah. Nak melalak sampai pecah anak tekak? Buatlah. Ada hakim kisah? hehehe...
yang heran nya melayu lah paling ramai buat demo jalanan sedangkan geng mereka bangsa cina dan india duduk rumah tepuk tangan...
