KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 (Bernama) -- Transparency International-Malaysia (TI-M) wants the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) fiasco thoroughly and impartially without fear or favour.
Its secretary-general, Dr Loi Kheng Min, said the government must investigate assets of the individuals involved and bring the wrongdoers to book.
TI-M welcomed and was encouraged by the formation of a 30-member task force by the MACC to investigate the alleged corruption relating to the fiasco, he said in a statement here on Monday.
The PKFZ project was embroiled in controversy due to its development cost rising from RM2.5 billion to RM4.6 billion.
The Port Klang Authority, which owns the project, lodged a police report after a task force found billing discrepancies involving RM500 million to RM1 billion by contractors of the project.
tunku : yes we want the macc to investigate withour fear and favour not only for the pkfz issue but ALL.transparency international must also remind macc to investigates those politicians misconducts especially from the pakatan rakyat. we can't remind them only on certain issue only otherwise the name transparency does not suits the body.

Transparency International must not be biased in giving out advices and reminders otherwise they are not transparent themselves. And if they are not who than is to oversee their transparency? Perhaps than we need another authoritative body to check on them!
