MACC Arrests Terengganu Assemblyman For Allegedly Accepting RM20,000 Bribe

KUALA TERENGGANU, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- A Terengganu state assemblyman was arrested Sunday by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly accepting a RM20,000 bribe.
The assemblyman is alleged to have accepted the money as an inducement to secure a landscape project in Kuala Lumpur for a company.
It is learnt that he was picked up at about 9.30am in Kijal, south of here, when he was with a friend and that RM5,000 was found on him.
It is also learnt that the assemblyman has been taken to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya for further investigation.
MACC investigation commissioner Datuk Shukri Abdull, when contacted, confirmed the arrest of the assemblyman but declined to elaborate.

tunku : let see who is this assemblyman.if he is from bn then no wants will bother but if he is from the opposition then the opposition will create tense and havoc day and night of his arrest. judging from the situation above it may be a bn assemblyman. we just want the macc to investigate fairly and if the assemblyman is guilty make sure he is punish to the maximum.
