KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has described as an embarrassment the commotion created by Padang Serai member of parliament N. Gobalakrishnan at the Permatang Pasir nomination centre in Penang Monday.
He said that the first day of campaigning should have proceeded smoothly if not for the incident.
"This happened even before we knew who the candidates were. As a member of parliament he should have understood and shown wisdom.
"I don't know why he acted in such a way against the authorities which are there to keep order," he told reporters after launching the MyTuition programme today.
He said the people should be aware of the action of certain opposition leaders who were out to challenge the authorities by deliberately creating chaos and disturbance.
"This is an act of provocation so that he can now say all sorts of things against the police," he said.
Muhyiddin said police carried out their duties in a responsible manner to keep peace and order at all times.
"It was all well this morning, then all of a sudden there was a commotion perpetrated by people who have no respect for the law," he said.
Muhyiddin also reminded opposition members and leaders to respect the law in their campaign for the Permatang Pasir by-election.
He said that a peaceful by-election would help the people decide wisely without feeling any pressure.
"If we can do this, the people will be able to make a rational decision and will turn up in huge number come polling day," he said.
Gobalakrishnan was detained after a stand-off with police at the nomination centre for the Permatang Pasir by-election.
Police had earlier told him to stop addressing the public using a loud hailer but the warnings went unheeded.
Police moved in to detain him but a group of about 50 supporters tried to intervene and prevent police from doing so, resulting in a fracas.
tunku : i wonder who made this idiot a MP. he is more like a gangster. we want the police to take the most stern action they can take against this idiot gangster.he slapped a policeman and it's on video.the police should not let him go just like that as this will make others to follow his footsteps and start slapping on the policeman's face in the future.this gangster should be put behind bars as he is not human but animal.i think the police should just bash him up.
the whole nomination process went smoothly until this bloody gangster show his true colour.if i'm not wrong this was the animal that the sarawak immigration denied his entry to sarawak.well they did the right thing.

If the oppositions has dreams of running this country they must refine their arguments, their thought, their actions and above their language.Otherwise they will become also rans.Ramlax
actually, pkr and dap cant swallow to see when umno and pas challenge like in bukit gantang and manik urai, there is no tense and any bad incidents.it shows that umno and pas have some kind of understanding. so to make things look bad between the both, this pkr people start to create tense.gobala started all the mess yesterday and yes we saw he pushed the police officers , punch them and also slapped one of them when they were bringing him for questioning.
gobala bencana ni patuit dipenjarakan selamanya.binatang buas.

tunku,
1. He is a another moron needs to be axed in the next general election.
2. The malays are monkeys by supporting his provocation and elected him to be MP. Muslim malays should use their brain and always vote the man who champion their struggles not those who play them up and always undermine Islam.
3. By throwing out PAS in Permatang Pasir, the muslim malays are giving back their face to the highest level and dissociate themself from the parties that smear Islam in the name of democrasy. This is a kind of Jihad.
My brothers, let do it in Permatang Pasir.
No surprise here. It's all about perception. It should be obvious to all that the opposition is persisting with its effort to build negative perception on BN. Reality has no place in the opposition's lexicon of election stratagem.
The opposition parties know better than others about the Malay psyche, taught by none other than Anwar Ibrahim. They are simply taking full advantage of the knowledge that the Malays are a gullible lot - naive, easy to influence and fool. Never mind that Gobalakrishnan's actions are wrong, as long as his antics can help build the perception that the police is an extension of the government and that it is cruel and violent. The recent incident involving Wong Chuan How, the special assistant to Ronnie Liu, also illustrates this point.
What is perplexing is that BN never learn this lesson. How else can we describe the BN's nomination of Rohaizat Othman, who was disbarred last year, for the Permatang Pasir PRK? Isn't that clear for all to see that UMNO is freely giving further ammunition to fire at BN and building yet again another negative perception? Is UMNO that gullible? Maybe it can "learn" something from Anwar about exploiting the Malay psyche!
ini semua utk tayangkan pada DUNIA yg Malaysia zalim dan mundur
mungkin dia dapat gaji tambahan kot
maklumlah depavali pun menjelang tiba
pihak berkuasa HARUS bertindak tegas, menggunakan undang undang yg sedia ada
mereka ni terima arahan drp DIRECTOR wayang kulit
The opposition are in defensive mode. They want to be seen on wheelchairs, arm sling and bandages after encountering with the authorities out of their own doing. And this is all just to gain sympathy for them and create doubts with the authority amongst the public.
