KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat's stance in not condemning DAP leaders for allegedly insulting Islam was just an excuse to protect relations between PAS and DAP."Nik Aziz said it's okay as they (DAP leaders) are not Muslims. (For him), non-Muslims can insult Islam, Muslims cannot do that. So, if we want to remain friends (with another), we should be good at making excuses," he told reporters after opening the Lat 1Malaysia Exhibition, here, Friday.
Nik Aziz, who is also Kelantan Menteri Besar, was recently reported to have said that he was not opposed to DAP leaders insulting Islam as DAP was a non-Islamic party and its leaders did not have a deep knowledge of Islam.
He instead blamed Muslim leaders for their attitude towards Islamic teachings to the extent that Islam's sanctity had been defiled by some non-Muslims.
Asked about Deputy Education Minister Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi's suggestion that Umno set up a political studies school to produce leaders knowledgeable in politics, Dr Mahathir said in a light vein that all, including journalists, could join the school.
Asked about the Influenza A(H1N1) outbreak, Dr Mahathir said public awareness on the dangers of the contagious flu was still low.
He also said that the authorities should not resort to closing schools before considering various factors, as this (closing schools) was a serious matter because it would affect the students' lessons.
Earlier, in his opening speech at the exhibition featuring cartoons by Lat (Datuk Mohamed Nor Khalid), Dr Mahathir said he was happy that he had appeared in Lat's cartoons as they always brought him cheer.
"The cartoons poke fun at people without annoying them. It's a great honour to be in Lat's cartoons," he said.
The exhibition, featuring 60 cartoon drawings, runs from today until Aug 31 at the Bangsar Shopping Centre. It is organised with the cooperation of Bandar Raya Development Berhad (BRDB) and New Straits Time Press (M) Sdn Bhd (NSTP).
tunku : for dap nik aziz can give his life. nik aziz is so fond of dap till he forgets that he is the murshidul of pas. i wonder how pas members can accept their murshidul's attitude?? for sure it is not an attitude of an ulamak but more of a "ULArdalamseMAK".

Perangai PAS pelik tapi benar
1. BILA ADUN BN lompat parti ke Pakatan Rasuah, halal. Bila ADUN Pakatan Rasuah lompat parti ke BN, haram (di Perak).
2. Bila Mufti Perak sokong Pas, dia ulama terbilang. Bila Mufti Perak tegur Pas, habis dimaki hamun.
3. Bila menang pilihan raya, puji SPR. Bila kalah, maki hamun SPR.
4. Bila ADUN BN buat perbuatan tidak bermoral, kutuk habis-habisan. Bila ADUN Pakatan Rasuah yang buat disuruh berehat saja (Elizabeth Wong).
5. Masa perintah Perak, cakap Raja Perak paling adil. Tapi bila dah hilang kuasa, tuduh Raja Perak macam-macam.
6. Sebelum berkuasa, beria-ia hendak laksana hudud. Lepas dapat kuasa, cakap hudud tak wajib.
7. Bila UMNO kata hudud sukar dilaksana, caci-maki-kafirkan habis- habisan. Bila DAP kata langkah mayat saya dahulu, Pas kata baiklah “Kami Dengar dan Taat”.
8. Bila orang luar hina nabi berarak satu KL, bila Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK) hina nabi, senyap membisu (mungkin orang Pas lebih sayangkan RPK dari nabi).
9. Bila kerajaan naikkan harga minyak, marah menggila, bila kerajaan turunkan harga minyak, cakap itu hanya muslihat politik.
10. Bila Pak Lah kata nak teruskan jambatan bengkok, kutuk Pak Lah sebab jadi patung Tun Dr. Mahathir. Bila Pak Lah batalkan, pun kutuk Pak Lah sebab tidak dengar cakap Tun Dr. Mahathir.
11. Masa Pak Lah PM, desak Pak Lah undur. Bila Pak Lah nak undur ganti Najib, Hadi kata Pak Lah tak payah undur pulak.
12. Bila Pakatan Rasuah buat demonstrasi, itu demokrasi. Bila BN buat demonstrasi, gesa polis ambil tindakan.
13. Bila menang pilihan raya, itu namanya demokrasi. Bila kalah, ada pengundi hantu.
14. Bila Kelantan mundur, salahkan Kerajaan Pusat. Bila negara maju, itu hasil sumbangan Anwar ke luar negara cari pelaburan tak langsung.
15. Bila bersendirian bertakbir, sekarang bila berdua dengan DAP ber take beer! (di Selangor boleh jual arak di kawasan majoriti umat Islam)
16. Bila mulakan ceramah, baca bismillah puji nabi. Masa tengah ceramah, habis semua yang berbeza pandangan di maki-hamun.
17. Bila orang UMNO baca al-Quran dituduh hipokrit, bila orang DAP baca al-Quran (di DUN Perak) dipuji melangit.
18. Bila UMNO (parti orang Islam) ajak berdamai kata pergi jahanam, bila DAP ajak bersatu kata setuju (biarpun terpaksa gadai prinsip).
19. Bila Beng Hock mati tuduh kerajaan zalim, bila kerajaan tubuh inkues pula kata kerajaan ada konspirasi.
20. Kalau Anwar bersumpah dengan nama Allah, benarlah Anwar, tapi kalau Saiful Bukhari bersumpah, dustalah kata-katanya dan boleh dimaki hamun secukup-cukupnya.
Bahkan akuan bersumpah Raja Petra lebih dipercayai daripada sumpah laknat Saiful Bukhari.
21. Kalau Anwar tak berani bersumpah, itu pun satu kebenaran tapi bayangkan kalau Saiful yang tak berani bersumpah, confirm dimaki habis-habisan.
22. Bila UMNO tak laksana hudud disebabkan faktor ketidaksesuaian, Pas maki ramai-ramai. Tapi bila Azizan Razak kata hudud bukan keutamaan di Kedah, Pas kata itu ijtihad murni
Sebenarnya TGNA hanya boleh memimpin taraf kampung aje
taraf negara dan antarabangsa, terpaksa lah harapkan anwar dan dap
dah sedap rasa kuasa, susah nak lepaskan

Crux of the matter is UMNO not PAS or DAP but UMNO. It's so dirty that we need o powerful detergent; so UniLever or Colgate where are u all.
Insaf insaf insaf before it's too late. Return all the monies n properties u have taken illegally (by organization or individuals)before the door of Barakah is shut. Ramadan is around the corner so we all should insaf. Insaf means not to repeat the sins and return all the properties n monies taken illegally. Don't compare with others because theirs are peanuts.
If you don't care, Insaya'Allah PAS will replace UMNO to fight for the Muslims vis a vis the Malays without forgetting the other Races.
Like u n UMNO did. Supremacy has it's limits if injustice is the measure. Allah is the Lord of Majesty and Bounty.
No use talking bad about others when UMNO is worse. Please Insaf insaf insaf insaf insaf..........sebelum terlambat.

Manusia2 ini agaknya macam dah tak takut Tuhan???
Manusia2 yang begitu gah melolong ke sana ke sini, kononnya memperjuangkan Islam, yang begitu gah menghukum itu Islamik dan itu tak Islamik tetapi kini menampakkan diri mereka yang sebenar, melencong ke lain disebabkan ketaksuban dan nafsu. Tidak takutkah mereka pada Tuhan sedangkan mereka tahu, mereka tidak boleh sembunyikan walau sebiji zarah pun dari Allah???
Tidak takutkah mereka pada Tuhan apabila memesong pengikut2 mereka dan apabila pengikut mereka melakukan perkara2 yang tidak baik, mereka 'menyembunyikan tangan' dengan berkata, 'kami tak suruh mereka buat begitu, mereka salah faham!' Senangnya jadi pemimpin!
Tidak takutkah mereka pada Tuhan akan kejadian2 yang telah berlaku untuk dijadikan iktibar!
Tidak takutkah mereka pada Tuhan apabila, agama & umat Islam, mereka permain2kan.
Mereka sudah tidak takut pada Tuhan lagi apabila mereka jadi RIAK dan UJUB.
