KUALA LUMPUR: An MIC leader has called on the Barisan Nasional to investigate an allegation that a Barisan component party leader was involved in undermining MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu’s chances of retaining the Sungai Siput parliamentary seat in the 2008 general election.MIC information chief and Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk M. Saravanan said the allegation by businessman O.M.S. Thiagarajan in Tamil newspapers on Wednesday should be fully investigated as it was very serious.
“I will be talking to Barisan secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor about the matter soon,” he told Bernama here Thursday.
Thiagarajan was quoted as saying on Tuesday that he had the assistance of a Barisan component party leader to oust Samy Vellu from Sungai Siput at the general election to ensure that the MIC president did not retain the position of Works Minister.
Samy Vellu lost the seat, which he had held for more than 20 years, in the general election and subsequently the MIC was not given the ministerial portfolio traditionally reserved for the party.
Saravanan said that if the allegation was true, stern action must be taken against the component party leader.
“I am not accusing Thiagarajan of making a false statement, but I just want Barisan component party leaders cleared of any such allegation.
“This allegation can create a lot of discomfort and result in disunity among Barisan component parties. It is a serious allegation and should be clarified as soon as possible,” he added. -- Bernama
tunku : it is wasting of time to probe this type of allegation as it won't change anything and the most important thing is with or without sabotage, samy vellu is an expired leader that should be removed from the mic presidency by hook or by crook. the longer he stays the more disaster for mic. saravanan should stop polishing the rotten apple.mic should be ashamed of themselves because they don't have the guts to change their president.i hope they won't change to someone named vell pari.

1.This is another spin off by the samy geng to garner support for his team in the coming mic election. What a sick allegation from the party member.
2. Most people do not like mic anymore due to his arrogance not only to his race but to his malay majority contituency.
3. It is only a matter of time for the mic candidite [DUN] in my area to be displaced [if not replaced] in the next pru13. We hardly see him in the constituency and most of the time arrived late in community/ school functions. I am wonder what is his contribution to the community since pru13. But we are very proud to our MP [DSKN] which is always around when you need him and always on time.
4. MIC need total revamp or re-org. They are only syok sendiri and never thankful to those who voted for him.
The MIC has created its own Animal Farm within the Animal Farm. We the old horses have no choice but to wait for the day when we will be put to rest while they all get away with murder. No pun intended. Ramlax
