KULIM: Kedah MIC Youth chief R. Nanthakumar and three of his office-bearers have resigned from their posts with Nanthakumar also calling for party president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu to step down.
The others who quit yesterday were Kedah MIC Youth secretary T.M. Ganesan, treasurer M. Selvan and information chief S. Somasunther.
The four said their decision was in protest against the MIC central working committee’s decision to ask party Youth chief Datuk S.A. Vigneswaran to step down because he had passed the age limit of 40.
Nanthakumar, 39, said the party’s decision in asking Vigneswaran, 41, to step down was uncalled for.
“The norm is to allow the Youth chief to continue his term which expires in 2009, ” he said.
Nanthakumar was the Kulim-Bandar Baru division MIC Youth chief, Ganesan the Merbok division Youth chief, Selvan the Padang Serai division Youth chief and Somasunther the Jerai division Youth chief.
tunku : better ask something else than to ask samy to quit as he won't quit. that guy has no shame and dignity. event though lost his seat still want to be the president. anyway brave action from Kedah MIC youth.may be palanivel will come out to defend his boss again now.

Now are the days when everyone start quiting and calling for others to quit as well.
Wonder will i still have my job...tomorrow...emm...
Samy should make room for his party to grow. Better now than later. Whilst still he is able to do. Take Tun for example. Who know government of the day would make a requirement by setting up a Royal Commission to clear up all retired leaders from MCA, MIC, Gerakan, SAPP etc. Things could happen we never know. So Samy should do something now whists he can.
Do not wait till it is too late. Regardless Samy should know better.
One more thing..job would not finish untill we all die. so enjoy retirement age by retiring. That will finish our job. same for Samy. Wish him luck.
