Lahad Datu Kg Tanduo: Ground battle in full force; jets silent

KG TANDUO: The ground battle is believed to be on in Tanduo village.
Artillery fire has stopped and the fighter jets are believed to have done their job.
No more explosions are being heard.
Jets were not seen flying over Tanduo village that has been pounded by heavy firepower since 7am .
Details of casualty figures on the ground among the Sulu armed group, led by Raja Muda Azzimudie Kiram, and the security forces are unknown.
However, ambulances from Tawau and Lahad Datu, that were placed on standby, were seen heading out.
A Nuri heicopter was also seen transporting soldiers from Cendrawasih towards the frontline in Tanduo village.
The seafront of Tanduo village is calm as maritime and naval forces stay on alert for possible retaliatory attacks from armed groups in southern Philippines that have threatened to counter attack Sabah east coast towns if Tanduo village came under fire.
Although reports of sightings of intruders have emerged from Kinabatangan and other areas, police have declared that the situation is now under control all over Sabah.
