KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib has agreed to double the strength of army and police force following the latest attacks involving cops in Semporna.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Musa Aman said Najib had also given his assurance that the safety and peace of Sabah would be their top priority, especially after the gunfire in Semporna Saturday night.
“From my side, I will be working closely with the Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to monitor all areas apart from Lahad Datu,” he said on Sunday.
Musa said Sabah police commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib and the army wre also gearing up operations statewide.
“I am also calling for cooperation and assistance from local leaders to tone down the sentiments and numerous rumours on what is happening in Sabah,” he said.
