Proposal To Scrap Bumi Discount On Property Worth RM500,000 And Above

SHAH ALAM, July 27 (Bernama) -- Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said the proposal to scrap discounts for bumiputera for the purchase of a house is for a property worth RM500,000 and above.
He said the proposal, made by the Petaling Jaya Utara Member of Parliament Tony Pua, however, did not suggest the abolishment of bumiputera discounts on the purchase of a low-cost house or affordable home priced around RM250,000 per unit.
On a question whether Pua's proposal would be taken into consideration in the state's 2011 Budget, Abdul Khalid said: "If the proposal gets the nod, it will be written in the Budget speech, if not, you will not hear anything about it."
He said this after closing the Selangor 2011 Budget Dialogue, here Tuesday.

tunku : this is another stupid idea or decision by selangor state government. dap will slowly try to abolish all the bumiputera privileges.they will do so because they have stupid followers like pkr and pas. khalid gave his comments earlier regarding the above issue.he said that the proposal to scrap bumi discount on property worth RM500,000 and above to prevent from rich people making profit or misused the privilege.he gave example if a bumi buys a house worth rm1mil,he will get 7% discount ie rm70k.so the person will sell it back at the market price and gets rm70k profit.first of all, this is good as it gives opportunity to the person to be a real estate player but then again the moron mb can't think much.if you purchase a house worth of rm1mil, the lawyer fees will be around rm7k, the stamp duty will be around rm25k , the mot, the broker fees etc.so left around rm35k of profit. which moron will want to make profit of 3.5% out of rm1mil ? it is better for him to put the money in tabung haji and get 70k without any effort.hope the mb can give a better excuse to the ill intention proposal by tony pua.
