KOTA KINABALU, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- Former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Mohd Zaid Ibrahim must explain his presence at Parti Keadilan Rakyat'S national congress in Shah Alam yesterday to Umno's disciplinary board before action is taken against him, Umno vice president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said today.Muhyiddin, who is also International Trade and Industry Minister, said Zaid's presence at the congress yesterday was not the first time he had attended a gathering by the opposition and this proved his disloyalty to Umno.
"It doesn't make sense that he attended a gathering by the opposition. This (Zaid's presence) is seen as giving moral support to the opposition.
"He must explain why he went to the congress. He has to be responsible for his actions," he told reporters during a meeting with editors-in-chief and bureau chiefs of national and local media in Sabah here, Sunday.
According to the Malaysian Insider website, Zaid claimed he was still an Umno member and did not see the opposition as enemies.
Zaid also said his presence at the congress showed that he was still interested in politics and did not expect to be sacked from Umno.
tunku : in this case, no explanation needed, just sack him.

yeah.there's no need for some explanation from him indeed.just sack the fella.it's just too obvious that this fella is acting two-face.
Muhyiddin accused Zaid for being "disloyal".but what about Nazri(Minister in the PM's deparment) when he went for the DAP seminar on 2004?does that mean Nazri also was "disloyal" towards UMNO?
i'm sure some opposition members also attend function or talks held by the BN.
in my humble opinion,it's the way how you perceive this things.if a person have his own principle then fear not that he/she will defect to other party just because he/she attends another politcal party's talks or function.
